My buddy is gettin his first mustang. He wants a 3rd gen fox. I'm helping him find a decent clean one. He doesn't want something highly modded to kill himself with, just nice, clean, and fairly stock. Pref something like a gear, exhaust, shifter car. Car has to be 5-speed, and no more then around $5K. We are already keeping an eye on craigslist so no need to check there, just if anybody knows of one speak up! Thanks yall.
All, I've decided to put my 1990 GT up for sale, right now, just here on NVMC...

1990 Mustang GT:

The Good:

- 5 speed car
- New RAM HDX clutch (replaced original clutch)
- All original drivetrain (engine, trans, rearend)
- Runs great
- All external parts in tact (moldings, etc)
- Rust free

- Original equipment present:
- Emission system fully intact
- AC present, but has a sytem leak. (Works if you charge it, but leaks within a few days)

- Passes Emissions with flying colors, Passes VA State Inspection
- Just passed VA Emissions in Sept '09
- State inspection done in March '09 (I had let it lapse over the last winter, there were no issues)

- I am the third owner

Since owning, the folling parts were fixed, or maintenance activities done:

- Spring '09:

- New clutch job done by Excessive, included the following:
- RAM HDX Clutch
- Resurfaced flywheel
- Replace pilot bearing
- Replace throwout bearing
- Replace rear main seal
- New clutch cable / firewall adjuster / aftermarket quadrant
- Replace driveshaft yoke
- Replace transmission fluid

-Earlier:

- Magnaflow stainless steel catted x-pipe (To pass Emissions) (Has flowmaster mufflers from prev. owner)
- New O2 sensors installed
- New belt tensioner and serpentine belt
- Fan and fan clutch
- Thermostat
- TFI Module

- Full "Mustang" tuneup:
- Cap and rotor (if it matters, the MSD ones, NOT an MSD distributor though, dist is stock)
- Plugs and FRPP wires
- Cleaned MAF, IAC, reset TPS, set idle
- Checked for all KOEO and KOER codes - none found

- Replace door and hatch weatherstripping (I haven't put the drivers door weatherstirpping on yet, but have it - original piece still in place)

Upgrades/Other Stock Parts Replaced:

- Excessive subframe connectors
- 3G Alternator and large gauge alternator wire (with high amp fuse) (Alt is from a '98 Mustang, approx. 45k miles on it)
- Aftermarket shifter (bought used, Tri-ax I believe)
- SN95 V6 Cloth seats from a '96 (Still have leather '90 titanium sport seats, but they need recovering, ripped)
- 50resto headlight kit (stock style)
- Installed foglights but didn't wire them (bought the car with the oe ones missing - will need to be wired in or removed, or covered to pass inspection next time around)
- Replaced passenger door GT moulding that was missing when I bought the car (now has all moulding peices)
- Mustang logo floormats (black)
- Pony rims (tires are OK the rims are in OK shape, not the best looking tires or rims but better than the turbines)
- Cobra-style taillights ('86 taillights refinished with black striping, look nice!) (still have the cheesegrater light covers)

The Bad:

- Paint is original but needs a repaint. Two tone (Titanium bottom, dark blue upper). Bad clearcoat peeling, but no bodywork or primer. VIN tags on fenders match up as original.
- Inteiror - previous owners left it pretty dirty. I cleaned it pretty good but the door panels aren't the greatest, and the carpet is dingy. The seats leather was also torn. But it's all there and interior parts can be found very cheap.

Needs:

- Paint to look it's best
- Carpet and OEM seats recovered or used ones replaced to look it's best
- AC has a leak, all parts are there and were functional when tested a few years ago
- Has a very slight power steering line leak in one of the lines but it's not major
- The trans shifts fine in all gears, but occasionally if you downshift to 2nd it will pop out of gear. Match revs and this doesn't happen, and it's never gotten worse
- Nothing else mechanically

Mileage:

This car has 208,000 miles on it. That does sound like a lot, and it is, but it's in better mechanical and body shape than it's mileage (for a Fox Mustang) might indicate. I've seen cars with half the mileage that were hacked up and wrecked. Mileage aside, this is a pretty solid vehice, and feels mechanically sound. When I bought the car, it has 193,000 mlies, that nearly scared me away but I took a look at it anyway, and ended up buying it. That was 5 years ago, and it's been a fun car since.

Why am I selling? I am selling this car becuase I'm buying a house and would like to add money to my budget for that. I notice I'm driivng this car less lately, so it seems reasonable to convert it to the house budget. After things settle down, I'm looking to get a newer SN95 convertible as a daily driver, or perhaps go back to the Fox world with a 4-eye project car.

Price: $2900

Of course this is a 19 yo car so it comes "As-is" but I've done my best to describe it here.

There is alot written above, I know, but this is a result of me doing my best to be 100% honest about this car. It may not be the best salesman tactic, I'm not trying to say it's something it isn't. What this car is though, is a very solid Fox with high miles that runs EXCELLENT. It's not without it's issues, but after owning this car for 5 years I can honestly say it doesn't really have any hidden demons.

No tire kickers please! But, on that note, I can bring to a NVMC meeting next time around if anyone wants to kick some tires or check it out. Smile

Pics: (The paint looks better in the pics than in person, I'm just being honest here. It does show the body is pretty straight though) The car is photogenic I guess Smile

Turbo... But a little raggedy on the wiring and such for my taste...

92 LX:4-bolt 331,TKO-600...needs exhaust and/or power adder: $8500 or trade
« on: September 16, 2009, 06:24:11 AM »

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NOTE: This is a Reconstructed title car. I've owned this for 16 years. I bought it at Bill Fox Auto Sales in Dover, PA (http://billfoxsautosales.com/index.html). I paid full price for this car. This car is solid and straight. It has run in the 9s in the 1/4 and has been a perfect car for me. It had minor front end damage, but the motor was a loss so it was totalled. Bill Fox has been rebuilding wrecked mustangs for many years and his cars are nicer than any good title car that I have ever bought.

1992 LX Hatch, Calypso Green, 2.5" Cervini Cowl hood, Weld Draglite wheels (skinnie and fats), 10-point cage with harnesses, stock gray interior, every gauge imaginable for a 10 second street car, TKO-600 5 speed, Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch, aluminum driveshaft, 3.73 gears, Moser 31-spline drag axles, FMS Race Trac-Loc (extra clutches and shims), C-clip elimators, long studs, Mega-byte JR LCAs, Edelbrock adjustable UCAs, Eibach Drag Springs w/ air bag, Lakewood 90/10 drag struts & 50/50 drag struts, Man O War 4-bolt 331, Edelbrock Victor JR heads, Victor 5.0 intake, TFS stage 2 cam, 1.6 roller rockers, Electric water pump, electric fan, Battery box in back with NHRA safety switch, big aluminum radiator, twin-pump 1100 hp fuel system with sumped tank, 42 lb injectors, etc...the list goes on and on! I'm sure there are many things that I have forgotten to list.

Motor Details: 331

Man O War block, all 5 mains are 4-bolt
Scat 4340 forged crank and H-beam rods
Probe SRP forged 14.3 dish pistons
Clevite 77H bearings,
ARP studs throughout
28 oz balance w/ Ford Racing SFI balancer
motor was blueprinted and balance by Rhodes
Short block built by Rhodes Performance in Somerset, PA...they build Winston Cup motors and are No. 1 in my book...they built me a 2-bolt 306 short block that ran in the 9s for 5 years before needing a rebuild...tons of street driving also.
FelPro 1133 MLS head gaskets...similar to Cometics only better fluid sealing IMO
ARP head studs
TFS stage 2 cam
double roller timing chain
Ford racing hydraulic lifters
TFS 6.700 hardened push rods
Crane 1.6 roller rockers
Edelbrock Victor 5.0 intake
70 mm throttle body/spacer

This car has the best of everything...I have realized that a car of this caliber is not what I'm after anymore. I need a car that I can take my wife and son with me to car shows and occassionally hit the drag strip for some fun.

Overall Car Critique:

Mileage: 73k
Body: 7 out of 10...a handful of door dings on the passenger side
Paint: 8 out of 10...some minor scratches, hood color is a very slight shade off the body
Mechanical: 10 out of 10...the drivetrain is fresh and solid...ready for low 9s or faster and able to last!!!
Interior: 7 out of 10...I have all original interior pieces that are not currently in the car

$8500 or trade for h/c/i notchback and cash, may meet for delivery up to a reasonable distance
Thank you for looking!!!

Clean car here

Okay so im really missing the Mach hardcore.Yes the coupe satisfied me for a minute but ive been contimplating sellin/trading it for a few days now.So I guess this is the start of a feeler thread.

1989 Original 4 cyl converted to 8 cylinder 5 speed
Miles:95,878 on the chassis.Unknown on the swap???
Engine:Stated when bought it had a 306ci.I can neither confirm nor deny so we'll call it a stock 302.
Mods:
Powerdyne 9psi Supercharger
E-303 Cam
GT40 Iron heads
1.6 rockers
Msd Ignition
6AL Box
BBK H-pipe (No Cats)
Flowmaster Catback
Pro 5.0 short throw
Electric Fan conversion
Battery relocation

The new:
New A/C lines
New Accumulator
Converted to R-134
New door moldings
New weather stripping
New Carpet
New Headliner
Like New Extremley Rare Flo-Fit seats

Gauges:
Autometer Pro Comp Oil psi
Autometer Pro Comp Water Temp
Autometer Gauge cage

The Bad:
The paint is good but not up to my standards.(Better than most but those that know me know im anal about my rides)There is a dent on the passenger side right behind the door not bad but im trying not to leave anything out here.
The car still has the 4 cyl dash cluster, and still is a 4 lug car. There is no radio as it has been deleted for gauge control and aux switches.Other than that she sounds awesome and can be daily driven with A/C that blows like snow

The car also has a Viper 350hv alarm

Contact:singleturbocobra@yahoo.com or pm me

Im lookin to get $6,700 but can pull the blower off if needed to make a deal.I have cash to trade up or will accept cash to trade down
