Re: Pacesetter Long tube headers
Thanks will. I will stick with the JBA then. Hey I was wondering if you could tell me if my car would be able to accept the lowering springs. You have seen how low it sits now with the ground effects. i just want to have it fill the wheel wells and look really sick. Or should I just have mine cut so that i can make them the right height instead of 1.5 inchs

Re: Pacesetter Long tube headers
Sorry been away.
Agree dont cut springs, especially progressive style like ours.
Eibach pro kit, or the Ford motorsport ones... Same spring.

I'll help too! VERY easy to install, and you don't need a spring compressor. Just some beefy men....LOL

Thanks, Will! I don't mind helping out if I'm not busy that day! I've already done or helped do the springs on 6 Stangs and 4 of those being the S19707caligtstang wrote:I'll help too! VERY easy to install, and you don't need a spring compressor. Just some beefy men....LOL
If you do it Laura's way, make sure you're wearing gloves so you can keep your palms intact! Plus you may have to search the floor for your misplaced/scattered balls!

Re: Pacesetter Long tube headers
Sounds good to me. I will order them next week and let you guys know when they come in. We can either do them at my house in a heated garage or any where that is convenient for you guys. I think it is time to start sinking some cash into this thing. I will have beer and lunch. Just name your taste of choice. Thanks guys I appreciate the offer for the help I am always willing to learn as well. Not to mention the neighbors will love to see a bunch of stangs in my driveway.

Sounds good to me. With the upcoming weather, I'd easily pick a heated garage!

Re: Pacesetter Long tube headers
Alright tired of sitting around. I am going to order my ceramic long tube JBA's and shorted catted h pipe this afternoon. Supercharger put on hold until 2011 unless I hit the mega millions. Got alot in the works for 2010 right now. Is there anything else I need besided the polyurethane motor mounts. Any recommendations for which ones to buy

Re: Pacesetter Long tube headers
Lowering and long tube headers are a bad move, just my opinion. You'll get a nice sound and some performance but you'll regret the bottoming out part. Other than that welcome to the club!

Re: Pacesetter Long tube headers
Is this a very serious problem. If so I can just go with ceramic shortys and save a ton of money on long tube. How much horse power will i lose when going over to the supercharger or if not noticable not worried. Let me know. Also with shorty headers do you need to lift the motor. THanks just about to order them to $1300

Re: Pacesetter Long tube headers
As long as you can avoid tall speed bumps, you should be fine with LTs and being lowered! I've run that combo since late March and when I do bottom out, it's not that bad That's a lot of driving for me as I've put about 30K miles on it just this year alone and didn't even have it from New Years until first week of March!!!!!
A better option that just purchasing motor mounts would be a lightweight replacement K member! Sure it will set you back several hundred $$$, but the easiest way to install LTs is by removing the K member...if it's off already...why not place a lighter one that offers plenty more room and much sturdier motor mounts back in its place???

Re: Pacesetter Long tube headers
I personally would go with the shorty headers. The miniscule difference in performance with the long tubes isn't worth the inconveinence of scraping your bottom end every day. Bottoming out takes away from your confidence in diving the car. Your always hesitant to get on the gas in unknown areas.Droptop306 wrote:Is this a very serious problem. Re: Pacesetter Long tube headers
Shortys
Pro: umm, you get to say you have aftermarket headers.
Con: How much money for how much hp. Are you kidding?
Long Tube:
Pro: Power. Sound. Sex.
Con: Ground clearance
Also, the install is the same and I've heard two different shops say LT's are easier

Re: Pacesetter Long tube headers
someone was saying u have to remove the k-member to install lts. Took about 30 mins to install my shorty headers and with the lts you have to mod the exhoust to fit them especially if there registered with MD you have to have the cats unless you get the repeaters. Much more involved it lts than shortys. You can get a set of good shortys headers than give you very decent amount of power. I'm gonna be wrapping my shortys hear soon. So I may pick up a few extra ponies. Its all preferance also.05RedDevil wrote:Shortys
