found one at 50resto.com gonna want it when i get home first week in May, but gonna just try and get a used one in good condition
Re: Now that's thinking with your dipstick!
and question... is my dipstick tube suppose to easily pop in and out?
Re: Now that's thinking with your dipstick!
No its driven into the block but most of the time when people up headers on they bend it out of the way and loosen the grip. The bolt that holds it to the header should still keep it in though.

Re: Now that's thinking with your dipstick!
okay, yeah, even before I swapped out my first set of headers, the tube slides in and out of the block. And the clip that is held on by a header bolt is so rusted it does not get held. So this is why I am going to get a new dipstick tube. Is it hard to drive a new tbe into the block?
Re: Now that's thinking with your dipstick!
Nope. Just difficult to get to with anything to tap it with the engine in the car. I ended up making a slide hammer with a fork that I could tap it in from.under the car. I lent it out and never saw it again:(
